Ich hab mich schon mehrfach gegen KI-generierte Bilder ausgesprochen. Die werden aber gern auf Instagram und anderen Social Media genutzt, um Aufmerksamkeit für Beiträge zu erzielen. Hier einige Alternativen:
Auf Unsplash.com gibt es, zumindest zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt ausschließlich Fotos, keine KI-generierten Bilder. Die lizenzfreien Fotos (außer die von Unsplash+, gekennzeichnet mit einem Plus im Bild) dürfen kostenlos heruntergeladen und frei verwendet werden, bitte nennt jeweils die Urheber*innen.
Das gleiche gilt für Pexels.com.
Graphics Fairy
Hier gibt es historische Zeichnungen und Grafiken, die kostenlos nutzbar sind.
Solarpunk Artworks der Story Seed Library
Die entsprechenden Artworks haben eine Creative Commons Lizenz, siehe: https://storyseedlibrary.org/art/
https://openverse.org/ bietet sehr viele Fotos, ebenfalls mit einer Creative Commons Lizenz
Das gilt auch für Wikimedia Commons, bzw. einige der Bilder dort sind gemeinfrei (public domain). Um sicher zu gehen, was die Lizenzen betrifft, kann man diesen Lizenzhinweisgenerator verwenden: https://lizenzhinweisgenerator.de/

Das niederländische Rijksmuseum bietet viele schöne Bilder kostenlos gegen Quellennennung an: https://www.rijksmuseum.nl/en/research/image-requests
Apropos: Zahlreiche große Museen und Bibliotheken (z.B. die British Library), verfügen über große Bilddatenbanken und die Bilder dürfen teilweise unter bestimmten Bedingungen (z.B. Quellennennung) kostenlos verwendet werden. Bitte stöbert bei Interesse selbst einmal im Internet.

Klar, das Stöbern in den entsprechenden Portalen ist zeitaufwändiger als mal eben schnell ein KI-Bild zu generieren. Aber auf diese Weise habe ich schon so einige Schätze gefunden.

In English: Alternatives to AI images
AI-generated images are often used on Instagram and other social media platforms to attract attention to posts. Here are several alternatives.
At Unsplash.com, there are currently only photos, no AI-generated images. The royalty-free photos (except those from Unsplash+, marked with a + sign in the image) can be downloaded and used free of charge, but please credit the authors.
The same applies to Pexels.com.

Here you will find free historical drawings and graphics.

The Rijksmuseum from the Netherlands has a database with many beautiful images and they can be used for free if you name the source: https://www.rijksmuseum.nl/en/research/image-requests
Speaking of which: Several large museums worldwide and libraries, (e.g. the British Library) have huge databases with images and some of them may be used for free under certain circumstances (for instance naming the source). If this is interesting for you, please do an online search.

Of course, browsing the respective portals is more time-consuming than generating an AI image. But I have found quite a few treasures while browsing for images.
